How Does it Work?

Frontend

Easily connected to any frontend and operates like a normal waterborne flushing toilet.

Liquid Processing

Wastewater from each flush enters an aerobic bioreactor, where naturally forming bacteria break down organic waste. The water then passes through a membrane filtration process and a final ozone treatment to remove pathogens. Once treated, the clean water is recycled back into the system for repeated flushing.

Solids Processing

Influent wastewater enters the primary tank where the heavier solids settle to the bottom forming a sludge layer. Accumulated solids are removed during a major service and disposed of at an approved waste treatment facility.

Inputs

Does the system require an external source of electricity?
Yes. There is the option of connecting to a solar/wind energy system to achieve off- the-grid status.

Does the system require the use of water?
Yes. The system is initially loaded with non-potable water which is then treated and recycled.

Does the system require any other "consumable" inputs?
Yes. Biological additives namely glucose and polyaluminium chloride.

Outputs

How much energy will be recovered?
None

How much water will be recovered?
Treated and recirculated for the next flush.

How much fertilizer or other byproducts will be produced?
None

Treatment

Solids treatment
Treats solids and liquids (refer to flow chart)

Liquids treatment
Black water/sewage

Are chemical processes used?
No. Biological additives

Are mechanical processes being used?
Yes. Pumps and motors

Are biological processes being used?
Yes

Does the system require any off-site or additional processing?
Yes. Removal and disposal of liquids and solids during major service events.
